What is Wedding Day Management?
Congratulations, Wow you’re getting married! Apart from thinking about the venue, the flowers and of course the dress, what about booking the services of a wedding planner to assist you throughout the wedding planning process?
While a full-service planner is worth their weight in gold, sometimes, whatever your circumstances, it is not for everyone.
You may want to plan every aspect of your dream wedding, loving every moment of the planning process, or you may just be super-duper organised!
But after all your hard work, you don’t want to be spending one of the most important days of your life running around after suppliers to make sure they are on site and set up on time and everything is in the correct place as you planned.
That’s where Wedding Day Management comes in, also commonly known as ‘On the Day’ Coordinator.
The difference being that a full service planner will plan every detail from start to finish, including design and budget management, whereas the ‘On the Day’ planner concentrates on the logistics of the actual wedding day ensuring everything goes to plan leaving the happy couple to enjoy the day.
‘On the Day’ actually is generally 6 -8 weeks prior to the wedding day, where the planner will meet the happy couple so that there is complete understanding on both sides of what is actually required for their big day.
Reviewing all suppliers’ contracts, and compiling a detailed timeline for everyone, it is then distributed to everyone involved, the bridal party, every supplier and the venue itself informing them that the planner will be first point of contact throughout the day.
The ‘On the Day’ planner runs the show so the whole process runs seamlessly and stress free for the happy couple. Being on site overlooking the venue setup, ensuring all seating, décor and flowers are in place as required. From helping the bride into her dress, directing guests to their correct seats for the ceremony, music cues and making sure any missing guests are found in time for photos.
Speech announcements, introducing the first dance, cutting the cake and everything in-between, everything is taken care of as planned. The planner will also ensure the vendors will pack away on time and all gifts and valuables are safely stored away.
In the event of any unforeseen situations, having a planner being on hand discreetly in the background is definitely peace of mind. Always equipped with the magic emergency bag full of all wonderful things, headache pills, stain remover, sewing kit or double-sided tape (you just never know)! or a supplier arriving late and managing the situation so that nobody is any the wiser, is why you made a great choice in deciding to book ‘Wedding Day Management’ for your big day.
